According to Frank Schoenberger (Frank in Australia) The hood buffer is the same profile as the door rubber that slots into the track on the door. Its what many of my customers have used for years

This doesn’t quite address my problems but it might be useful for otheres: Early and late Minx suspension parts do not interchange.
